Purging, decluttering and cleaning are great ways to kick off the new year.  Here are a few suggestions to help get started:

Set Specific Goals - start by setting specific goals for decluttering different areas of your home.  Whether you choose to focus on one room at a time, or work on specific categories such as clothes, books, or kitchen items, this will help you stay organized and manage the process more effectively.

Create a plan - Make a plan to organize your belongings.  Set up storage solutions such as bins, shelves, or drawer organizers and label them.  Once you determine if you want to Keep, Donate, Recycle or Discard, place your items in the appropriate bin.

Organize your cleaning products - Properly dispose of any cleaning supplies you no longer use.  Then categorize your remaining cleaning products by type or function, such as glass cleaners, multi-surface cleaners, and floor cleaners to help you find them quicker and easier.  Store all your cleaning products in an area that is easy to access - It’s one less excuse for getting started.   A great tool to organize your cleaning products is JAWS Cleaning Caddy.  It has room for 5 bottles of cleaner and dedicated slots for 8 JAWS refill pods.  JAWS Caddy helps streamline your cleaning routine and keeps your cleaning products in one convenient location.

Be Consistent - Set aside some time each day or week to tackle decluttering or cleaning tasks. Consistency is the key to making progress. Whether it's 30 minutes every day or a few hours every weekend, sticking to a schedule can help maintain momentum.

Donate - Donating items when decluttering is not only a great way to simplify your life, but also offers a chance to help others in need. By donating gently used clothing, household items, or other useful items, you're giving them a second life and providing support for those who may not have access to these resources. Whether you choose to donate to a local charity, shelter, or thrift store, your contributions can make a meaningful difference in the lives of others while also reducing waste and promoting sustainability.

Clean as you go - Take the opportunity to deep clean your home as you declutter. This can involve routine tasks such as dusting and vacuuming, or cleaning surfaces like baseboards and ceiling fans that you don't do on a regular basis. JAWS refillable cleaners offer a full range of effective, eco-friendly cleaning solutions for the hard surfaces in your home.

Reward yourself - Celebrate your progress with small rewards to help maintain motivation. Whether it's treating yourself to something you enjoy or simply acknowledging your accomplishments, positive reinforcement can help you stay on-track.

Remember, consistency doesn't mean you have to declutter everything at once. It's about making regular, ongoing efforts to maintain a clean and clutter-free home.  Decluttering is a process, and it's okay to take it one step at a time.  Good luck with your decluttering journey!
